As a local laundry and dry cleaning brand, we not only want to provide our customers with the best service but would also like to hold responsibility for inspiring our employees and customers to give back to society. For many years, people have been placing high importance on sustainability and always look towards supporting a brand that practices social responsibility. 

Did you know according to the National Environment Agency, 168,000 tonnes of textile waste were produced in 2019? And only 4% was recycled. This just goes to show how recycling clothes in general isn’t easily accessible. With that, we have decided to start our own recycling initiative to encourage and help you with your recycling and upcycling.  

In April 2021, we will be working with Cornerstone Community Services (CCS) to be a part of a donation drive for the needy and migrant workers who shop at The Barn. The Barn is a volunteer-run thrift shop under CCS that sells pre-loved goods such as clothes, accessories and household appliances to the needy. Their aim is to assist people in the community by selling basic goods available to them at very affordable prices. As of today, these people in need include migrant workers too. 

If you’re wondering how we will be aiding The Barn in their donation drive, let us tell you.

5 selected Presto Drycleaners outlets will be accepting donations in forms of clothes and accessories from our customers and the public! 

These outlets include, 

1. Republic Plaza, Level 02-12A
2. Bedok Mall, Level B2-49
3. Ion Orchard, Level 04-17A
4. West Gate, Level B2-K20
5. Suntec City, Level, B1-160

We have strategically picked out these locations which are easily accessible to ensure that people from all parts of Singapore are able to donate effortlessly. Donation is open for collection during our outlet opening hours. As the donation drive is aimed to provide what the community needs, there will be a list of items needed posted on Presto Drycleaners IG story and website, monthly. Your items will be vetted by our retail shop staff to ensure that they meet the donation criteria. 

How to Donate

With these 5 easy steps, you’ll be able to donate easily and help those in need. 

Step 1: Check the items our Donation Drive needs for the month on @presto_sg IG Story Highlight or Website

Step 2: Ensure all items are in good condition.

Step 3: Bring your donation items to any of the 5 outlets listed.

Step 4: Get your items checked by our Counter Staff.

Step 5: And you’ve successfully donated your clothes! 

With this clothing donation drive, we hope to be able to motivate and prompt Singaporeans to ethically dispose of their unwanted clothes by donating or recycling. On top of that, we hope that we can tap on our retail footprint to increase the number of locations where donations are accepted so that people can repurpose their pre-loved goods. It would help create a better and greener Singapore for our future generations.
